IT Key to Patient Care At High-Tech Hospital.

This article reports on the utilization of information technology systems at the Saint Francis Heart Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. By building first all-digital cardiac care facilities, the hospital has made it possible for doctors to access patient data from anywhere inside the hospital, at home or off-site via a wireless network. The 52-bed facility has installed 70 servers and more than 275 personal computers, and each patient room is equipped with a computer and Internet access. The hospital also has 12TB of storage available for data and medical images.
