- Abstract:
The article comments on the decision of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower to call Great Britain, France and the U.S. together in Bermuda. The meeting is considered necessary to halt the drift and division that threaten the free nations. To Bermuda, Sir Winston Churchill will bring a firm basis for Western policy toward Russia and China, a grasp of the use and limits of diplomacy and the will and authority to govern the country that elected him as its leader. The trouble is, as Churchill well knows, that neither Eisenhower nor the spokesman for France (whoever he may be) meet these tests.
