TRAGIC EVENTS ON THE MOVIE SCREEN: DARK TOURISM AND POPULAR CULTURE. (English)

Dark tourism - travelling to places that are connected to tragic events or places where a tragedy happened, is getting more and more popular nowadays. The role of popular culture is important and this article is focused on its connection to dark tourism. It is mainly focused on visual culture - films and TV series, where tragic events are displayed and therefore influence the perception of dark tourism sites. Film tourism is concerned with the visual part of culture. That is why a relationship between these two forms of tourism is highlighted in this article. Even though in some cases they can be contradictory, they can also cooperate in some way. The article also deals with displaying death and tragic events in the film industry which is important mainly in films and TV series based on true events. Finally, the article shows how film can have an impact on a dark tourism site - in this case Chernobyl. An increased number of visitors can be viewed as a positive aspect. However, the downsides include the transformation of the site, possibly leading to a shift to the pale side of the dark tourism spectrum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Temný cestovný ruch, čiže cestovanie na miesta, ktoré odkazujú na tragickú udalosť alebo sa tam tragická udalosť priamo stala, sa v dnešnej dobe teší narastajúcej popularite. Veľkú úlohu zohrávajú médiá a populárna kultúra. Jej spojitosti s temným cestovným ruchom sa viac venuje nasledujúci článok. Zaoberá sa najmä vizuálnou časťou kultúry, teda filmami a seriálmi, ktoré zobrazujú tragické udalosti a tým ovplyvňujú vnímanie miest temného cestovného ruchu. Na vizuálnu kultúru je zameraný filmový cestovný ruch, ktorý ovplyvňuje aj temný cestovný ruch. Článok rozoberá vzťah medzi týmito formami cestovného ruchu. Napriek tomu, že v niektorých prípadoch môžu pôsobiť protichodne, môžu spolu aj kooperovať. Ďalší prvok, na ktorý sa článok zameriava, je zobrazovanie smrti a tragických udalostí vo filmovom priemysle, kde je vidieť, že sú významným prvkom najmä vo filmoch a seriáloch, ktoré majú predlohu v reálnych udalostiach. Nakoniec sa článok venuje dopadom, ktoré môže mať film na miesto temného cestovného ruchu - v tomto prípade najmä na Černobyľ. Ako pozitívne možno hodnotiť nárast počtu návštevníkov. To ale prináša aj svoju negatívnu stránku v podobe pretvárania miesta, ktoré môže mať za následok posun miesta na svetlejšiu časť spektra temného cestovného ruchu. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
