    • Abstract:
The article presents information on the book "Hail Columbia!," by George Sundborg. This book focuses on the thirty-year struggle for the Grand Coulee Dam. It took a small group of determined men 30 years to bring about construction of this giant dam on the Columbia. Sundborg tells how this stubborn group persisted in drawing attention to the tremendous irrigation and, power possibilities of the Coulee. The private utility interest wanted to build a gravity project to irrigate the Columbia Basin at far higher cost, so that they would not have on their hands a large power supply, embarrassing to dispose of in this relatively under-developed part of the country.
