      A biography of author Kelly Yang is presented. Yang was born in 1985 in Tianjin, China and studied at the University California, Berkeley and at Harvard Law School. She received the 2019 Asian Pacific American Award for Literature for her novel "Front Desk." She founded the education program Kelly Yang Project in 2005 that focuses on teaching children in Asia to use reasoning and critical thinking to write and debate.
