COVID-19 and the New Category of Paid Days Off for Parents. (English)

The rapid spread of COVID-19 and its effects across the whole economy are causing governments and businesses to take measures at both local and global level. Romania is currently facing perhaps the biggest economic crisis in modern times. The Romanian government has addressed the current situation with a series of economic and fiscal measures to try to support the business environment affected by the crisis. To do so, it has enacted various pieces of legislation in the economic and fiscal environment, and consequently the legal framework is quite volatile. The government’s measures to ensure an established income during the state of emergency are contained in several recently adopted items of legislation. Among the most important and topical measures of an exceptional nature we can list Law no. 19/2020 on granting parents time off for supervision of children, during periods of temporary closure of educational establishments. Răspândirea rapidă a COVID-19 și efectele sale asupra întregii economii determină guvernele și întreprinderile să ia măsuri atât la nivel local, cât și la nivel global. România se confruntă în prezent cu, probabil, cea mai mare criză economică din vremurile moderne. Guvernul român a abordat situația actuală cu o serie de măsuri economice și fiscale pentru a încerca să sprijine mediul de afaceri afectat de criză. În acest sens, a adoptat diverse acte normative în mediul economic și fiscal și, prin urmare, cadrul legal este destul de volatil. Măsurile guvernului de a asigura un venit stabilit în timpul stării de urgență sunt cuprinse în câteva acte normative recent adoptate. Printre cele mai importante și de actualitate măsuri de natură excepțională putem menționa Legea nr. 19/2020 privind acordarea de timp liber părinților pentru supravegherea copiilor, în perioadele de închidere temporară a unităților de învățământ.
