- Abstract: The aim of the presented results of media studies is to show the degree of use of television and computers, - new new media by children between the first and the sixth year of life. An important element is the indication of the use of new information and communication technologies at the start-up moment. The research is also aimed at presenting the level of children’s involvement in communing with new technologies and showing how important a part of a child’s life are computers and television. The educational elements occurring in families, relations between children and their guardians, which have a fundamental influence on the child’s development as well as its contact with media messages, over which the supervisor should exercise control, were also verified. The analysis is closed with the conclusions of the research indicating the benefits, but also the risks resulting from children’s early entry into contact with information and communication technologies from the age of one.
