    • Abstract:
History teacher Ottó Pénzes is the director of the Képes Géza Primary School in Mátészalka and, as the president of the Művészetbarát Egyesület (Patrons of Art Association), he is a mainstay of the town's cultural life. As a director, he took up his job in 2018. In record time, he managed to revitalize a desperate and frustrated community of teachers. His revolutionary idea, which will probably sound awfully outdated, is that the school must first focus on its teachers and not the children. This thinking leads to a whole series of obvious solutions. In this perspective, teachers are 'anointed' by the state, which is to say by the community, to serve as role models on account of their professional knowledge and personal integrity. The teachers will know what their wards need. Therefore, as they used to say in the old times, the teacher's word is sacred. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
