- Abstract:
A simple method for evaluating the yield stress of shock-compressed material from the measured unit free-surface velocity history is proposed, verified, and approbated. For the first time, the dynamic yield stress of shock-compressed metal (aluminum) is experimentally evaluated at an elevated temperature. It is found that its value is lower than that at the room temperature and lower than the initial value of the dynamic yield stress at high temperatures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
