This article focuses on the socio-political developments in the U.S. It hadn't been since 1972 that the California primary played a decisive role in a presidential race. After leapfrogging ahead from its traditional June spot to early March, the California primary vote sent the final torpedo into Republican John McCain's presidential campaign. McCain's message seemed to get lost in this huge state with eleven major media markets. It's been almost a hundred years since American Federation of Labor president Sam Gompers declared that they will stand by friends and administer a stinging rebuke to men or parties who are either indifferent, negligent or hostile.
