DAILY LIFE PRACTICES OF JOURNALIST: LIMITATIONS, FACILITIES AND OBJECTIONS. (English)

In this study, the relationship between the economic and social conditions of journalists and daily life practices are discussed. The main claim of the article is that the working conditions of journalists, which are getting worse both financially and professionally, have found a serious response in daily life practices and that they have deeply eroded both professionally and socially. The study is based on a field research. In the study, extended case method was used. The research was conducted in August-October 2017; the data was obtained from the survey applied to 100 journalists and in-depth interviews with 23 journalists working in the national media in Ankara. In the first section of the study, some different approaches regarding daily life will be discussed and the concept of daily life adopted in this study will be explained. In the second section, the method of the study will be explained. The third and fourth sections contain the findings of the field research and discussions on the journalists' livelihood-income-indebtedness patterns and non-business life experiences. The findings of the research indicate that while economic and social conditions cause serious erosion in journalists' daily lives, on the other hand, this erosion affects the professional and social practices of journalists and creates important problems for the whole society. In this respect, it can be said that the findings obtained confirm the basic claim of the study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışmada gazetecilerin ekonomik ve toplumsal koşulları ile gündelik hayat pratikleri arasındaki ilişki ele alınmaktadır. Makalenin temel iddiası, gazetecilerin maddi ve mesleki açıdan giderek kötüleşen çalışma koşullarının, gündelik hayat pratiklerinde de ciddi bir karşılık bulduğu ve onları hem mesleki hem de toplumsal açıdan derin bir erozyona uğrattığıdır. Çalışma bir saha araştırmasına dayanmaktadır. Çalışmada genişletilmiş vaka analizi yöntemi kullanılmış, veriler Ağustos-Ekim 2017 tarihlerinde, Ankara'da ulusal medyada çalışan 100 gazeteciye uygulanan anket ve 23 gazeteci ile yapılan derinlemesine görüşmelerden elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde gündelik hayata ilişkin kimi farklı yaklaşımlar tartışılarak, bu çalışmada benimsenen gündelik hayat kavramsallaştırması açıklanacaktır. İkinci bölümde çalışmanın yöntemi açıklanacak, üçüncü ve dördüncü bölümlerde ise alan araştırmasının bulguları, gazetecilerin geçim-gelir-borçluluk örüntüleri ile iş dışı yaşam pratikleri başlıklarında serimlenerek tartışılacaktır. Araştırmanın bulguları, ekonomik ve toplumsal koşulların gazetecilerin gündelik hayatlarında ciddi bir erozyona neden olurken, diğer yandan bu erozyonun gazetecilerin mesleki ve toplumsal pratiklerini yeniden etkileyerek tüm toplum açısından önemli sorunlar yaratmakta olduğuna işaret etmektedir.
