I Background: i Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the United States, and it is hyperendemic in the Northeast ([1]). Results of immunohistochemical testing for I Anaplasma phagocytophilum i and I Babesia i species on heart tissue from the Massachusetts patient and on heart, spleen, and liver tissue from the Vermont patient were negative.
