- Abstract:
The article examines the pleasures and pain in the life of American composer Cole Porter. Topics discussed are influence of Porter's queer and bisexual sexuality on his sentiments in his songs, consequences of the leg injury he suffered from a fall in 1937 on his work, as well as his creative process of writing in a revue and lyricist style, and decline in the quality of his work as his health condition declined in 1958.
