    • Abstract:
The article critically apprises the book "A Physical, Historical, Political and Descriptive Geography," by Keith Johnston. By the preparation of this volume Johnston has not only conferred a great boon upon geographical students in general but has made a very important addition to English geographical literature. The book consists an accurate account of various natural and political divisions of the earth's surface. A valuable epitomized chapter of the geographical history of the world, covering thirty centuries, illustrated by a series of maps delineating the progress of geographical discovery and of territorial conquest, a very interesting and not less useful sketch of physical geography and a few introductory pages on map-making.
