      This is research aims at identifying the actors of contemporary transnational activism and the role of digital media for protests. Based on a literature review, two emblematic cases of transnational activism will be analyzed: the coordinated protests of 15 February 2003 against Iraq War; and the 2011 demonstrations in Egypt in the context of Arab Spring. The following questions will be explored in this literature review: 1) Who are the main actors behind these protests? 3) What makes these movements transnational? 2) How did they use social media?       O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar os principais atores de dois episódios recentes do ativismo transnacional e o papel das mídias digitais para protestos. A partir de uma revisão de literatura serão estudados dois casos emblemáticos: os protestos coordenados de 15 fevereiro de 2003 contra a iminente Guerra ao Iraque e as manifestações de 2011 no Egito, no contexto da Primavera Árabe. Serão trabalhadas as seguintes questões nos casos estudados: 1) Quem são os principais ativistas nesses dois contextos? 2) Por que trata-se de eventos transnacionais? 3) De que forma as mídias digitais são utilizadas?
