- Abstract:
The article reports on an incident of a motorbike accident due to error on the part of the rider and gives a lesson for safe riding. The article author rode on his motorcycle along the breathtaking, 70-mile coastal drive from base, through Malibu, California, to his wife's game. Along the way, he noticed the rear brake felt a bit spongy and made a mental note to have it checked. The bike bucked and flipped end-over-end. Since the car ahead of him had stopped for no reason, he fell off the bike on his left knee and started sliding. He was scraped, bruised and badly shaken, but was alive, and nothing was broken. He later learned that he shouldn't have gotten back on the bike. He learned his lesson by trying something new in a new environment.
