HISTORICAL AND STRUCTURAL ASPECTS OF LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN'S LATE STRING QUARTETS. (English)

    • Abstract:
The main goal of this paper is to understand the specifics of Ludwig van Beethoven's (1770-1827) late string quartets, the historical aspect of their creation, their position and meaning in the composer's life and work. Basic "conflict" that affects all the late quartets is the opposite of history and progress. Although there are elements of romantic style in Beethoven's music, and despite the fact that his work became part of the starting point of the development of music romanticism, he respected the classic style. But most of all, he respected his ideas and feelings, changing the traditional forms and adapting them to his ideas, which intensely affect the form. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
