The article states that Stanford's relationships with Lockheed and General Electric were more significant that those with Hewlett-Packard and Varian. The article discusses the history of the Silicon valley in California and Stanford University, highlighting the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), the Stanford Industrial Park, and the Honors Cooperative Program (HCP).
