The role of Imereti castles in tourism development. (English)

In the process of discussing and determining touristic potential of Georgia main focus is on magnificent nature of the country and historical and cultural heritage, as they fully satisfy visitors’ requirements. Number of international tourists increases every year and it has great importance for Georgia’s social and economic development: making jobs, getting foreign currency be invested in our country and making tourists interested in visiting, going sightseeing in order to raise awareness about the decent past of the country. The main purpose of this work is getting to know Georgia’s cultural heritage, namely, fully presenting castles of Imereti, which are not used as tourist destinations. 17 basic castles of Imereti region are presented in this work with their historic past and approaches in armed service techniques of that time. In conclusion part there are some recommendations how to use tourist resources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
