    • Abstract:
This article presents information on the disputes among the Arabs and the Jews in Palestine. The complications caused by the contending claims of the Arabs and Jews in Palestine have been increased by the attitude of the Vatican, which on May 15, 1922 dispatched a note to the League of Nations protesting against the terms of the Palestine mandate. In regard to the protection of the Holy Places, particularly stressed in the Vatican's protest, the British note says: As a further means toward insuring absolute impartiality his Majesty's Government would be prepared, if the Council of the League approved this course, to select nominees for the commission [in charge of Holy Places] from a panel put forward in the first place under some international procedure, whether by the Assembly or Council of the League of Nations or by the president of the Court of International Justice.
