    • Abstract:
This research examined the dating/romantic experiences of international students (N= lll) at two universities in the United States. Gender was a significant factor in dating perceptions. Women, compared to men, perceived cultural differences to pose a greater challenge in dating American students. Male international students, as compared to females, were more open to dating Americans, someone from another country, or someone of another religion. Regarding living a double life, 31% of the male and 20% of the female international students reported that their parents did not know about their romantic love life in the United States. Symbolic interaction theory was used to interpret the data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
