The article discusses that the sense of touch generates powerful and long-lasting memories. Topics discussed include a study by Fabian Hutmacher and Christof Kuhbandner that touch generates more complex and long-lasting memories; benefits such as touch such as a person who may not be able to verbalize how something felt, will be able to recognize it by grasping it or looking at it; and the findings that touch can activate somatosensory cortex.
