- Abstract:
The article discusses a three-year study follow-up on patients with primary angle closure as of 2019. Results confirm initial findings of better clinical outcomes and better quality of life from primary lens extraction than from standard care with laser peripheral iridotomy plus topical medical treatment. Also noted is the cost-effectiveness of clear lens extraction compared to primary iridotomy, although it is not necessarily right for every patient and should be discussed with the surgeon.
