- Abstract: The article discusses candor in relation to the late Saint Thomas More's conscience and challenges involving lawyers' first freedoms under the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment, and it mentions how More is known as the patron saint of lawyers. Freedoms of speech, client selection, association, and religious expression are examined. The speech-related case National Institute of Family & Life Advocates v. Becerra and the marginalization of socially conservative lawyers are assessed.
