- Abstract:
The importance of transportation of passengers by Iraqi railways lies in its contribution to development process which helped from one hand in achieving population expansion and onn the other hand in saving many jobs that related with this activity that requires multiple services and requirements. The period of study (1997 - 2014) witnessed variety of activities in the field of transport of passengers on the railway l(Baghdad - Basrah). For the purpose of facilitating the study, it has been addressed in three periods: - Duration (1997-2002) when 6035914 passengers were transported and realizing a revenue volume of (250, 973,638, 11) Iraqi dinars. - Duration (2003-2008) transported 34,677 passengers with realizing a revenue volume of (275,550,982) Iraqi dinars. - In the duration (2009-2014), the number of passengers who passed through (Baghdad - Basrah) railways was 1022946 passengers and achieved revenues of (11638973250) Iraqi dinars. تكمن أهمية نقل المسافرين على خط سكك (بغداد - البصرة) بما له من مساهمة في عملية التنمية، حيث ساعد على تحقيق الإنتشار السكاني، ومن ناحية أخرى وفر فرص عمل كثيرة لما يحتاجه هذا النشاط من خدمات ومتطلبات متعددة. فقد شهدت مدة الدراسة (1997- 2014) أنشطة متنوعة في مجال نقل المسافرين على خط سكك (بغداد - البصرة) ولغرض تسهيل دراستها تم تناولها على ثلاث فترات: - الفترة (۱۹۹۷ - ۲۰۰۲) وقد تم فيها نقل 6.35914 مسافراً محققة حجم إيرادات قدرها (11, 638, 973, 250) ديناراً. - الفترة (۲۰۰۳ - ۲۰۰۸) وقد نقل فيها 346797 مسافراً محققة حجم إيرادات قدرها (982,550,275) ديناراً. - الفترة (2009- 2014) فقد بلغ تعداد المسافرين المنقولين خلالها 1022946 مسافراً وقد حققت إيرادات قدرها (11638973250) ديناراً.
