    • Abstract:
      The foundations project is one of the most important parts in structural design. In general, the design of the foundation elements is based on the experience of the designer and on the basis of the project parameters, such as requesting loads and characteristics of the terrain resistance. Recent studies, such as that of Tomaz and Alves (2015), Lourenção, Andrião and Alves (2017) point out that optimization techniques can be used in the design of the foundation elements in order to obtain a reduction in the final cost of the design of these elements. The present study proposes a comparative analysis of the result of the problem of optimization for piles cap, by the Internal Points Method, analyzing the limiting stresses on piles and on pillar in accordance with ABNT NBR 6118: 2014, ACI (2011), EHE ( 2008). For the dimensioning of the block the formulation proposed by Blévot & Frémy (1967) was used within the formulation of the optimization problem. Beyond the dimensions of blocks, sections of steel and compressive strength of concrete, the number of piles for the final project will be analyzed as variables of the project in the problem of optimization. Numerical examples of 2 to 6 piles blocks with optimization results are presented to show the applicability of the formulation, as well as how the best analysis is done, so the best project can be defined. The results of the analyzed problems indicate that a considerable reduction of the cost can be obtained, when considering the optimization problem in addition to the dimensions of the block, sections of steel, also consider the concrete strength and the number of piles.       O presente trabalho propõe um estudo comparativo do resultado do problema de otimização de blocos de concreto sobre estacas, através do método dos pontos interiores, sendo analisadas as tensões limites nas estacas e no pilar conforme as normas ABNT NBR 6118:2014 (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas), ACI (American Concrete Institute, 2011) e EHE (Instrucción Espanõla del Hormigón Estructural, 2008). Além das dimensões dos blocos, seção de aço e da resistência à compressão do concreto, o número de estacas para o projeto final será verificado como variável de projeto no problema de otimização. Exemplos numéricos de blocos de 2 a 6 estacas com os resultados da otimização serão apresentados para demonstrar a aplicabilidade da formulação. Por fim, fez-se uma análise da melhor solução, de modo que o melhor projeto seja escolhido. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
