- Abstract:
A catalogue of detected pest insects associated to food warehouses of Sancti Spíritus province is offered. Entomological records available in Provincial Plant Health Laboratory were verified during the period of (1996-2015) and the Acarological during the period of (1983 al 2015). 32 species of noxious insects belonging to three orders and 14 families are reported and nine species of mites belonging to two orders and 4 families; the coleopterons were the taxa of highest incidence, represented by 22 species, of those which Ahasverus advena Waltl., Acanthoscelides obtectus Say, Carpophilus dimidiatus (Fabricius), Sitophilus oryzae Lin., Lasioderma serricorne (Fab.), and Tribolium castaneum Herbst. were the most frequents. Rice, beans, corn meal, the pea, the rice and the corn were the foods of highest attack, although severe infestations was also observed in nutritious pasture, coffee, soja meal and agricultural seeds. The mites Suidasia medanensis Oudemans and Blomia tropicalis (Bronswijk), were the most common and the foods more damaged were wheat meal, bran, saccharin, sweepings and barley. Se facilita un catálogo de los insectos y ácaros detectados en almacenes de alimentos de la provincia de Sancti Spíritus. Se recurrió a la información estadística de las intercepciones entomológicas (1996-2015) y acarológicas de 1983 a 2015 disponibles en el Laboratorio Provincial de Sanidad Vegetal. Se reportan 32 especies de insectos nocivos, pertenecientes a tres órdenes y 14 familias, y nueve especies de ácaros, pertenecientes a dos órdenes y cuatro familias. Los coleópteros se presentaron como el taxa de mayor incidencia, representados por 24 especies, de las cuales Ahasverus advena Waltl., Acanthoscelides obtectus Say, Carpophilus dimidiatus (Fabricius), Sitophilus oryzae Lin., Lasioderma serricorne (Fab.) y Tribolium castaneum Herbs resultaron las más frecuentes. El arroz, el frijol, la harina de trigo, la harina de maíz, el chícharo, el arroz cáscara y el maíz fueron los alimentos con mayor ataque, aunque también se observaron infestaciones severas sobre pastas alimenticias, café, harina de soya y semillas agrícolas. En el caso de los ácaros, se observó una mayor incidencia de Suidasia medanensis Oudemans y Blomia tropicalis (Bronswijk), siendo los productos más afectados la harina de trigo, la maicena, afrecho, sacharina, barreduras y cebada.
