    • Abstract:
The article presents information on the progress made by Social Democratic Party that is ruling in Sweden. Olof Palme is the head of this democratic party. In office for almost four decades, it has made Sweden one of the most "progressive" countries in the world. Not only has Sweden the highest per capita income in Europe but it also provides a range of services and protections, covering pregnancy, birth, housing, education, unemployment, health, old age and death, which makes it the model of a welfare state. The ruling Social Democrats have already enacted legislation that liberals in the U.S. could only hope to see passed in the next twenty years.
