    • Abstract:
The author was busted during the nonviolent Mayday sit-down in front of a Justice Department. A police inspector and the author had a disagreement over the author's right to cover the story. After a brief discussion, the inspector took the author firmly by the arm to a prison. The author's discomforts in confinement were typical; 106 people in a 40-by-21-foot cell for six and a half hours, then sixty-six inmates in an 18-by-20-foot cell for eight and a half hours; and two bologna sandwiches, no ability to make phone calls. Many more young people suffered much worse pre-arraignment punishments.
