      Medical practice guides (diagnosis and management) historically have a special dynamics. New revised versions are published by specialized scientific societies not after a scheduled calendar or periodicity, but according to the cumulative new enough data which show that the old data are no longer accurate or no longer relevant. As a direct consequence of redefining the threshold values for diagnosis and classification, the guide emphasizes the importance of accurately determining blood pressure, because for example, erroneous overestimation of values may lead to a false diagnosis and unnecessary drug recommendations.       Ghidurile de practică medicală (de diagnostic și management) au, istoric, o dinamică aparte. Noi variante revizuite sunt publicate de societățile științifice de specialitate nu după un calendar sau o periodicitate programată, ci în funcție de cumulul de date noi suficiente, care arată că datele vechi nu mai au acuratețe sau nu mai sunt relevante. Ca o consecință directă a redefinirii valorilor-prag de diagnostic și clasificare, ghidul subliniază importanța determinării corecte a tensiunii arteriale, întrucât, de exemplu, supraestimarea eronată a valorilor poate duce la un fals diagnostic și la recomandări inutile de tratament medicamentos.
