Blueprints for residential construction are copyrighted intellectual property, protected under terms of the United States Copyright Law and therefore, cannot be copied legally for use in building. There are some guidelines to obtain the right number of copies for chosen blueprint design. Do purchase enough copies of blueprints to satisfy building requirements. Vellums can be written on and changed more easily than blueprints. Also, remember, plans are only good for one-time construction. Do consider reverse blueprints to flop the plan.
