      Durante los últimos años, la educación ambiental se ha orientado hacia la toma de conciencia de la realidad global y el tipo de relaciones que se establecen entre los hombres y la naturaleza. Por tales motivos, se realizó una investigación con el objetivo de valorar el impacto de la aplicación de una metodología para la formación ambiental de estudiantes de primero y segundo año de la carrera de turismo en universidades mexicanas. Dicha metodología se estructura en cuatro pasos y cinco tareas, y pretende incluir una serie de actividades relacionadas con la formación ambiental y la sostenibilidad en el programa docente de la carrera de turismo. Para el procesamiento de los datos se utilizó el software estadístico SPSS9 versión 21.0 para Windows y el análisis no paramétrico Kolgomorov-Smirnov. También se demostró, con el empleo del coeficiente Phi, que la metodología propuesta garantiza la mejora continua en la formación ambiental. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      During the last years, environmental education has been aimed at raising awareness of the global reality and the type of relationships that are established between men and nature. For these reasons, a study was carried out with the objective of assessing the impact of the application of a methodology for the environmental education of first and second year students of the tourism career in Mexican universities. This methodology is structured in four steps and five tasks, and intends to include a series of activities related to environmental training and sustainability in the teaching program of the tourism career. For data processing, the SPSS® statistical software version 21.0 for Windows and non-parametric Kolgomorov-Smirnov analysis were used. It was also shown, with the use of the Phi coefficient, that the proposed methodology guarantees continuous improvement in environmental training. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
