      This section introduces a series of articles which focus on the promotion of library technologies in the U.S, one of which is a branding article written by Sejan Yun. She and her colleagues knew exactly what their goals were; however, they also realized that they did not have the knowledge to do it alone, so they hired a local public relations firm to design a new logo and to create a brand and plan how to integrate it into all the library's branches. There is also an article about two persons who were responsible for the creation and promotion of a Geographic Information System laboratory in their library building. They wrote grants, got equipment and training, and started shopping around the new service to faculty and students.
