      The article focuses on Danish contemporary travel to former colonies of Denmark, such as the U.S. Virgin Islands and Ghana. Topics discussed include the concept of dark tourism, the emotions involved in the meeting of tourists with former Danish colonies, and the stances tourists are encouraged to take on the history of slavery and the loss of empire.
