      Durante las décadas del setenta y el ochenta del siglo XX, el cartel destinado a la promoción del carnaval en Santiago de Cuba, como hecho de naturaleza profundamente popular, estuvo dotado de determinados rasgos distintivos dentro del contexto nacional, que lo condicionaron conceptualmente. En ellos se torna evidente un acentuado valor identitario, muy vinculado a las tradiciones culturales locales y caribeñas tan patentes en esta ciudad. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      During the 70th´s and 80th´s of the last century in Santiago de Cuba, the promotional carnival poster, as an essentially popular fact, was endowed of particulars characteristics in the national context, which was determining for its concepts.
