The Concept of Community and its Development: A Critical Review towards its Application. (English)

Community is a dynamic concept which always changed and constructed through primitive and virtual form. The construction community is a direct impact due to the development of technology and the internet as well as the urbanization processes. Scholars who discuss and argue about community concept are Emile Durkheim, Ferdinand Tonnies and Robert Redfield as well as some other figures. Among the concepts that impressed and had a big impact in measuring the community was the concept introduced by Ferdinand Tonnies, Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft. Gemeinschaft is a situation that refers to a real community while Gesellschaft refers to community changes described by the concept of society associated with organizations and associations to create a new community of communities based on organizational strength within the community. In some circumstances, scholars associate it with neo-Gemeinschaft. This paper attempts to highlight the concept of community, debate about it and receive a response from paper presenters.
