    • Abstract:
Each year I plant numerous food plots on my hunting land in a mix that combines 50 pounds of wheat, 10 pounds of crimson clover, and 10 pounds of arrowleaf clover per acre. I also throw in two pounds of rape. I have had a lot of success with this mix here in south Georgia. Around April or May, the arrowleaf clover takes off and puts on a lot of stem growth, becoming literally thigh deep in my plots. The deer continue eating it stem and all. Should I mow it at this time to make it produce more leafy growth instead of stems, or should I leave it alone?
