- Abstract:
The article focuses on the destructive F0V4 Fusarium, a fungal disease of cotton which spreads through seed or soil transfer. Dr. Bob Nichols of nonprofit research and marketing company Cotton Inc. notes the potential for F0V4 to attack cotton in the 4- to 6-leaf stage, leaves smoking holes in cotton stands. Information about the genetically modified ultra-low gossypol cottonseed (ULGCS) that keeps gossypol in every part of the cotton plant except the kernel is explored.
