Valentine's Day gave booksellers an excellent sales opportunity last month, and Mother's Day is having a similarly positive effect in March. Leading the dozens of titles moving up the charts on the back of gift purchases are till-point sellers Purple Ronnie's Little Thoughts About Mums and Bradley Trevor Greive's The Incredible Truth About Motherhood. Female authors take half of the places on this week's Bookseller 50. Fiction publishers are scheduling more of their big female authors around the day, though its effects are unclear.
