The author discusses the challenges facing Muslim Americans due to the rise of anti-Muslim sentiment in the U.S. following the election of Donald Trump as president. He describes examples of Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric which influences his politics, including his promotion of the theory that a quarter of Muslim Americans believe that violence against the U.S. is justified as a part of the global jihad. The author also criticizes Trump's demands for a total ban on Muslim immigration.
