    • Abstract:
Interventions to support transition to extrauterine life in the highrisk neonate begin in the delivery area and end when admission to the NICU is completed within 60 minutes after birth. Strategies in the Golden Hour are designed to positively impact both shortand long-term outcomes by minimizing complications related to hypothermia, hypoglycemia, respiratory compromise, oxygen demands, early onset sepsis and metabolic acidosis. A skilled resuscitation team should be in attendance at the delivery area before the birth to coordinate with the obstetrical team and develop an individualized plan of care for the neonate.
