- Abstract:
Examines the neologism in Czechoslovakia called lustrace, which is the Czech word for the screening of former Interior Ministry files to find who collaborated with the Communist secret police, or StB. Goal of the StB of infiltrating every organization in society; View by the author that the passion for lustration runs against a theme of the country's political order; View by most politicians that lustration is not primarily a matter of retribution; First major test faced by lustrace in January 1991, when the Czech minister for the environment, Bedrich Moldan, was exposed a collaborator.
