      The article presents studies which aim on predicting autism risk. Judy Van de Water, lead scientist at the University of California, identified autoantibodies made by the immune system of a mother which appear to be associated with autism risk if they cross the placenta. Another study released in 2014 revealed children receiving interventions by a 12-week treatment program in the first year of life had fewer developmental problems and language delays associated with autism.
