The article presents brief conversation with several songwriters to be honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2017, in which they discuss the inspiration behind their songs. Topics include Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds' experience of writing the song "I'm Your Baby Tonight" for singer Whitney Houston, Jimmy Jam's work writing the song "That's the Way Love Goes" by singer Janet Jackson, and Alan Menken's work writing the song "Under the Sea" for the film "The Little Mermaid."
