- Abstract:
The article focuses on differences in sibling relationships among boys and girls in nondivorced, divorced and remarried families. The changes in these relationships as the children moved further into adolescence and as children in remarried families adapted to their new family situation were also explored. On the basis of previous research, the following hypotheses about sibling relationship was expected. First, it was expected that, in general, girls would show more positive, supportive and empathic behavior but no less negative aggressive behavior toward their siblings than boys.
