    • Abstract:
The article discusses the two theories of origin for the Moon, a satellite to the planet Earth. One theory elaborates that Mars-sized protoplanet called Theia 4.5 billion years ago collided with planet Earth and a debris mingled and mixed to form the Moon wherein Moon and Earth are composed of similar materials. Another theory emphasizes big impactor hypothesis wherein impactors hit Earth creating energy and their debris combined to form the Moon gained more acceptance.
