In this article, the author discusses a pilot archaeological study conducted at the Morton Village site, Illinois to examine the food habits of the native Oneota and Mississippian people. Topics discussed include the ceramic art of these people, the use of Lipid analysis in the study, and the archaeological remains at the site. Also mentioned are the changes in material culture among people at that time, the vessels used for cooking and eating, and the wall trenches of Mississippian people.
