    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the building of the Royal Mail Steamer, Titanic. Work on the Titanic began in March 1909 at a shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. Three years later, the largest ship of its time was ready to sail. The Titanic was almost 900 feet long and weighed more than 46,000 tons. Just one anchor on the giant ship weighed more than 15 tons. Inside, the ship could carry up to 2,600 passengers, while almost 1,000 crew members kept it running. The Titanic also boasted the latest safety features.
