- Abstract: Organizations are challenged to evaluate care delivery systems and design innovative models of care within nursing practice. This retrospective study demonstrates that implementing daily quality rounds, a method of patient rounding with the clinical RN and an unassigned facilitator (an RN in a leadership role) that focuses on quality measures, effectively improves outcomes. This study specifically addresses hospital-acquired pressure ulcer (HAPU) risk and prevention. Data show that with daily evaluation of care, nurses more consistently implement a greater breadth of patient-specific interventions in a timely manner. Daily quality rounds are one innovative method of meeting the quality demands that nurses face. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
