      The article focuses on the concerns related to the representation and tenure of the women and minority faculty in the education system. Topics discussed include illustrations of effective service of minority faculty in mentoring and supervision, hindrances in form of cultural taxation affecting scholarship productivity and need to address discriminatory hiring practices with probationary guidelines and policies for tenure and standards for underrepresented minorities.
